Sharpies

Scooped

Sigh!!!! We've been in the processes of submitting/revising a paper now for a while and of course in the time being we're scooped.

1) Could someone send me the article? (sameusername-at-hotmail-dot-com).
Yin J, Xu K, Zhang J, Kumar A, Yu FS. J Cell Sci. 2007 Feb 6.
Wound-induced ATP release and EGF receptor activation in epithelial cells.

2)The reason it's even more frustrating is this lab never cites our work. I'd love to see if they did in this article. I mean, you type "wound, EGF, ATP" in Pub-med and our lab has several hits in the top ten. But when my PI asked their PI about it he'd said he'd never seen our articles! Poll time:

Should you cite your competitors?

Sure, it's only fair to let others know what's been done already.

Depends, it could make our work seem less groundbreaking.

No way. We did it. It's our work just as much as theirs.

I have too many other things to be mad at right now. Must vent and get this out of my system!

EDIT: WE WERE CITED THIS TIME SO AT LEAST I FEEL A LITTLE BETTER
