Dear PI/Advisor,
I think your budding interest in ornithology is great. Really it is. By exploring new fields, you can find new ways of looking at your own research and questions. However, this does not mean that you should feel free to leave the dead bird you found outside last week in the refrigerator. Right on top of the antibiotics. At the very least, please consider putting it in a ziploc baggie.
Thanks,

Would anyone happen to know a specific definition of the term syngen? I've got a decent general idea of what it means, but I'm not sure about the differences between it and species, or it and varietals, etc...

P.S. The original reference seems to be TM Sonneborn, 1957.
