I spent 4 hours pouring a set of gradient polyacrylamide gels which should have taken an hour at most. For some reason all the gears on our peristaltic pump seem stuck and clogged with polymerized and hardened gel. I'm thinking some blockhead spilled reagents/gel mix all over the unit and didn't clean up properly. Unfortunately I *need* this piece of equipment and water won't do the trick of softening up and removing all of this crud. I can't submerge the unit for a good soaking. Anyone have any idea how to dissolve this junk?
