can you plagirize yourself?

So I was just proofreading a manuscript for the postdoc I share an office with, a  friend.  The introduction contains whole paragraphs from a review we wrote together earlier this year for a book.  Now in our lab we do a lot of taking text from grants and putting it in manuscripts, and text from manuscripts can make it into grants.  But publication to publication?  This is really sketchy right?  And if this was my PI's doing, how to point out without sounding terribly accusative?  Plus, while hardly containing new ideas, sentences I wrote seem to be in a manuscript I am not an author on...
